Iran-Oman-Environment
Head of the Department of Environment (DoE) Masoumeh Ebtekar said Monday Iran was given protection of environment diversity in the Persian Gulf.
All littoral states of the Persian Gulf have one year time to install equipment in their ports to refine ships balancing water, she said on the sidelines of the executive committee meeting of Regional Organization for Protection of Marine Environment (ROPME) in Muscat, Oman.
According to the approval of the committee, Iran will administrate comprehensive oceanography studies of Persian Gulf and Oman Sea through the assistance of regional experts in the coming winter, she noted.
ROPME Sea Area is the sea area surrounded by the eight member states of ROPME; Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
