Kish, Hormuzgan prov, July 7, IRNA-The world biggest omelet was cooked on the southern Iranian island of Kish on Wednesday on the sidelines of the first International Food Festival in this Persian Gulf Free Trade Zone.
The 1,200 kg omelet, with 30 meter length, 80 cm width and seven cm thickness, was cooked in five pieces and distributed among 13,000 people, said an official from the festival.
He added that 10,000 eggs, 100 kg of date, 100 liter of oil, 40 kg of mushroom, 60 kg of potato and vegetable and a 80 kg combination of salt, various spices and other additives was used for making the gigantic omelet.
The three-day festival organized by Iran’s Fisheries Organization with the cooperation of Germany and Britain, kicked off on this island on Tuesday.
