Subject: Complaint about worldscale web site
Dear Sir/Madam
I am writing to file a complaint on behalf of my organisation “Persian Gulf Task Force” about a gross mistake made on your website under menu Preamble from your home page. On this page under section, option number three out of four is using the name Arabian Gulf, link to page:
http://www.worldscale.co.uk/Worldscale/home_start.asp
If you are referring to the body of water between Iran and the arabian peninsula then the correct name of this body of water is the Persian Gulf. The correct name of the Persian Gulf has been endorsed by the United Nations and the British Government.
The United Nations with 22 Arab member States has on two occasions officially declared the unalterable name of the sea between Iran and the Arabian Peninsula as the Persian Gulf. The first announcement was made through the document UNAD, 311/Geneva on March 5, 1971 and the second was UNLA 45.8.2 (C) on August 10, 1984.
Please see this link for confirmation sent to myself in writing from the British Foreign Ministry:
I would appreciate if Worldscale would correct the mistake on the above page of your web site as a matter of urgency and to ensure that the correct name of the Persian Gulf is used in your literature and site in future..
I look forward to your prompt reply.
Regards
Mr Afshin Dastafshan
